Jesus selected the men His Father told Him to choose, for He only did what He saw His Father doing. When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles.” ( Luke 6:12,13) Jesus began His discipleship ministry in prayer: “One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. Jesus’ entire ministry depended upon these individuals who would go on to anchor the Church. Though many people followed Jesus, He chose twelve ordinary men with a mixture of backgrounds and personalities to be His disciples. Let’s take a look at how Christ made disciples and we’ll discover some keys that will help kids become followers for life – kids who love Jesus and commit themselves to His purpose. Jesus was the greatest disciple maker who has ever lived.
